I left Reading University in the summer of 1988 and joined Standard Life as a Pensions administrator.
In 1992 I moved to product sales where I was allocated a panel of Independent Financial Advisers and my role was to promote Standard Life's product range. I remained in the role until the end of 2017.
Dealing directly with independent advisers over many years gave me a great deal of experience in all areas of personal financial planning. I also used my time wisely by becoming highly qualified over the period. I was one of the first employees at Standard Life to attain Chartered Financial Planner status and, shortly afterwards, I became a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society (FPFS).
I always knew that I would eventually become an independent adviser. The perfect opportunity arose when Harpsden Wealth Management approached me about joining them to work with a retiring adviser. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Harpsden, however, the business was subsequently purchased by a larger company. Over time I became less comfortable with the new culture so, in May 2022, I made the difficult decision to resign.
I decided to set up my own business in September 2022 and applied to be authorised and directly regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. The business is now live as at July 2023.
Arborfield Wealth Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority no. 987996. Company no. 14330935
